NOW - "10 for 20 Campaign" Here's an ongoing event you can stay home to enjoy! You just have to write a check that includes everyone who lives in your home to join the Naperville Responds $10 for 20 campaign. The purpose of the campaign was to fund 20 homes for victims of Hurricane Katrina living in Pass Christian, Mississippi, based on the idea that if every Naperville resident contributed just $10 toward the effort, 20 homes could be built.

In June 2007, Naperville Responds reached it first goal to fund 20 homes. Initially, each home cost about $42,000, built with skilled labor donated by the Mennonites and coordinated by the Rotary Club of Pass Christian.

The first 3 homes were dedicated on Aug. 19, 2006. As of February 2008, 11 homes have been completed or are currently under construction. It's a slow process, but all 20 homes are expected be finished by 2012.

Funds are always welcome and if Naperville Responds raises enough money, additional homes will be built.

Simply mail donations of any size to Naperville Responds, c/o DBCW, Ltd., 123 Water St., Naperville, IL 60540. Naperville Responds also has set up this Web site to accept donations on our website. Thank you!

OTHER HOPE AND HOME-BUILDING INITIATIVES Naperville Responds is happy to introduce you to another fundraising initiative that will benefit the Gulf Coast. Compassion Cottages in Barrington, Illinois, is another group looking to help in Pass Christian. www.compassioncottages.org.
